Digging in

I’m trying to get some work done today but I am on needles and pins waiting for Election results to start coming in.

It’s gonna be a LONG 28 hours…

I’ve been thinking about this great Warren MacKenzie square bowl I saw a number of years ago.  I’m kinda glad that I can’t come up with a similiar image and I’m left to my (awful) memory and more better imagination.

I recall it being low, all white, cut foot and very substantial.  It was small serving size and made from lots of clay.  I find that my favorite potters consumed lots of material and paired down rough form to get to the pot they needed.  I’ve always been a bit of a cheapskate with clay.  It’s the (only bit of) conservative in me.  Having just reclaimed I’m feeling kind of flush at the moment and I’m making a concerted effort to not be stingy with how things start on the wheel.
