Yunomi Dreams

I’m off to load a glaze kiln.

I allowed myself to take almost a week to glaze the 4o-or so pots that are going in today.  Since getting in the swing I’ve found myself rushing thru the process and the results have been good.  I’m kind of anxious about this round- the potential for having over-glazed and over-thought these pots is real.  I used a lot of wax resist on this round – butting glaze up against glaze, isolating flowers and forcing transitions.

Chances are there will be winners and losers and they will all yield valuable information.

The above yunomi was from Nov/Dec and it’s really got a hold on me.  I like what’s happening and tried to take off from that point.  I let the pot go to a good home and I’m glad it’s there and not here to taunt me all day while I get this kiln fired off.

Fingers crossed.

That’s quite a red. I’ve spent a couple of days “turning japanese”, trying to make yunomi/cups. It’s been a while since I’ve made them. Cutting the feet was the most difficult.
